It should actually be "About me", because I founded Wine from Cyprus in 2009 as a sole proprietorship and continues to run it as such. The "Weinhaus Lobenstein" retail shop has been open since October 1st, 2020.

I am a wine lover but not a wine expert or sommelier. Our tastes are far too different for everyone to smell the same peach note or the herbs and spices and taste / feel something on the palate and in the finish, and certainly not all of the same.

Everyone can and should discover wine for themselves and gain experience. I am happy to help with information on the pages and answer your inquiries by email. It is important to me to emphasize that wine is a natural product and therefore changes every year, just like our nature. Certainly today there are possibilities, which are also permissible under food law, with which producers can make wines taste the same every year. Personally, I find the changes in naturally produced and unadulterated wines exciting and I look forward to new discoveries every year when trying the current vintages. That is why these wines predominate in the range of my web shop. On the detail pages of the individual products there is usually a description of the wines, as it is not possible to taste them online. These descriptions or ratings come from the producers, from participation in various competitions or were created by sommeliers.

The story of the shop "Wein aus Zypern" - "Wine from Cyprus"

In 2009 I came into contact with Cyprus wine for the first time while on vacation in Cyprus. Back home I started looking to complete my own wine cellar. But with the exception of Paphosweine GmbH in Switzerland, no wine from Cyprus could be found anywhere. So the idea arose to fill this clear gap in the wine range in Central Europe. This is how the webshop and new friendships came about. Every year we go to Cyprus to make new discoveries and to experience how the local producer landscape continues to change - for 10 years now, steadily for the better.
